Welcome to Tadpole Vineyard
Nestled on a south-facing slope off Frog Lane, Bishopsbourne, Tadpole Vineyard is a family run business growing exceptional grapes for English Wines, including their own production of a light, easy drinking Bacchus.
Why "Tadpole Vineyard"?
Our name reflects our roots on Frog Lane, and just as a tadpole transforms into a frog, we see ourselves as a blossoming vineyard, still in the early stages of our journey.
Tadpole Vineyard is an intergenerational family operation. Everyone, from the experienced hands to the youngest members, plays a part. The whimsical label featuring a frog was illustrated by our talented 12-year-old granddaughter, Agnes.
What we grow
In our vineyard, we grow Bacchus, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Each varietal imparts distinctive flavours and shows promise for the future when we expand our range.
Tadpole Vineyard stands out with its unique and exceptional terroir. Our vines thrive on a south-facing slope, rooted in sandy, silty soil with free-draining chalk, imparting a special character to our wine.
Our Wines
Our first release is our still white wine, Bacchus. Reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France or New Zealand and Chile, it boasts grassy, herbal, and citrusy notes.
Keep an eye out for our future releases - a still Chardonnay and a red wine made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
